Electronic resources and Library catalogues

You can view our Health Promotion Resources Catalogue online.

You can search our book catalogue online from a Trust PC. Please note that you are not currently able to access this from outside of the Trust, and it is still a test version in development.

You can also search the NW catalogue, selecting select "Manchester Mental Health and Social Care Trust" in the box called "Restrict to items held at..." or contact the Library to find out if we hold a particular book.

Whether you are carrying out your own research, working on a project or finding out about a new area, the following are some of the resources available to you. You will need your Athens username and password unless stated. Find out more about Evidence Services and register for an Open Athens Account.

"Critical appraisal is the process of carefully and systematically examining research to judge its trustworthiness, and its value and relevance in a particular context" (CASP)

The following are some useful resources to provide more information, training and toolkits for critical appraisal training.
