The Trust's vision on improving Manchester's mental health and
well-being in partnership focuses on improving the quality of care
and the service user experience through a recovery-focused
approach.
Our transformational programme
of work on improving services and our strategic approach, with
service users' recovery as our focus, has enabled us to strengthen
the work across areas to bring together the acceptance that
recovery outcomes are personal and unique for each person, and go
beyond an exclusive health focus to include an emphasis on social
inclusion and quality of life.
We are committed to continuing to support people to make the
choices about how they want to lead their lives and acknowledge
that those choices need to be meaningful and innovatively explored.
Individuals can build on their strengths and take as much
responsibility for their lives as they can at any given time,
enabling us to balance our duty of care while supporting people to
take positive risks and make the most of new opportunities.
We will also continue to involve and engage our service users
and carers to support them to maintain and develop meaningful
social, recreational, occupational and vocational activities which
enhance mental wellbeing.
