Getting to hospital

The Trust provides services at two main sites:

Laureate House at Wythenshawe Hospital

Park House at North Manchester General Hospital

 

By public transport (all sites)

GMPTE Travelshops will help you to plan your journey and provide details of services and times. GMPTE Travelshops are found at most bus stations in Greater Manchester.

GMPTE's Traveline team can provide information about all bus, train and tram services in the Greater Manchester area, including timetables, leaflets and maps. Phone Traveline 0871 200 22 33 (calls cost 10p a minute from landlines, mobile and landline networks may charge an additional tariff. Lines are open 7am to 8pm Monday to Friday, 8am to 8pm Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays).

GMPTE's hospital website also tells you how to access all hospitals in Greater Manchester by public transport. You will find maps of the hospitals, locations of any bus stops, rail stations or tram stops close to the hospitals, and it also displays route maps of services to and from the hospitals, which you can download and print.

By car

From North and West: exit M60 at junction 5, head south on A5103.
From South, exit M56 at junction 3a.
From East, exit M60 at junction 3, follow M56 to junction 2.

Then, from all directions, take A560 towards Altrincham. Turn left into Southmoor Road and continue to follow this until you reach the hospital.

There are a number of drop-off points at the hospital.

The main visitor car park is located in front of the Acute Block and can be accessed from Southmoor Road, which leads to the main Hospital access road. This is the main visitor's car park and A&E, Main Outpatients and the majority of the clinics are located close by.

There are two other car parks for visitors. One is located in front of the new Clinical Sciences Building which is at the Floats Road end of the Hospital approach road. The other is located on the South side of the Hospital.
