The Trust's Board is made up of the
Chair, the Chief Executive, Executive Directors, Directors and
Non-Executive Directors.
The Trust's monthly Board meetings are held in public and people
are free to come along and listen to Board decisions. However, they
are not actively allowed to take part. As the decisions of the
Board affect many people in Manchester and the Trust would like the
public to have the opportunity to contribute their views, inclusion
of the public includes questions received from members of the
public in advance of the meetings.
The Chief Executive is appointed by the Chairman, Non-Executive
Directors and two external assessors from within the NHS. The
Executive Directors are appointed by the Chairman, Chief Executive,
Non-Executive Directors and two external assessors from within the
NHS who work in a related field. They are appointed on a permanent
contract.
Non-Executive Directors are appointed by an independent body,
the NHS Appointments Commission, with two nominations from the City
Council and one from the University.
