Local Security Management Specialist
The Local Security Management Specialist (LSMS) works with staff
and managers in the Trust, together with the police and other key
stakeholders, to investigate security breaches and implement new
systems to help protect the NHS. The LSMS illustrates to staff and
service users the importance of a secure NHS.
The current priority areas of action for the LSMS are -
- Tackling violence and abuse against staff and other
professionals working in the Trust
- Ensuring the security of Trust property and assets
- Ensuring the security of drugs, prescription forms and
hazardous materials
- Maintaining a safe environment for staff and service
users
The LSMS also aims to create a pro-security culture, deter those
who may be minded to breach security, to prevent security incidents
and breaches, to investigate and detect security incidents and to
apply sanctions against those responsible through the civil and
criminal justice systems.
