Staff Stars shine at Trust awards ceremony

Coronation Street star Jennie McAlpine applauded Trust staff for their hard work at the organisation's recent Star Awards at Manchester Town Hall.

Jennie, who plays Fiz Stape in the popular soap, said it was 'people that make for good care' and praised the progress the Trust has made in recent years.

The star was happy to host the show due to her personal interest in mental health. Jennie's father Tom was recently awarded an OBE in the Queen's Birthday Honours list for his work at the helm of Manchester mental health charity Moodswings.

Trust Chief Executive Jackie Daniel also expressed her gratitude to staff for all their hard work in what she described as a challenging year for the NHS in general.
