Coronation Street star Jennie McAlpine applauded Trust staff for
their hard work at the organisation's recent Star Awards at
Manchester Town Hall.
Jennie, who plays Fiz Stape in the popular soap, said it was
'people that make for good care' and praised the progress the
Trust has made in recent years.
The star was happy to host the show due to her personal interest
in mental health. Jennie's father Tom was recently awarded an OBE
in the Queen's Birthday Honours list for his work at the helm of
Manchester mental health charity Moodswings.
Trust Chief Executive Jackie Daniel also expressed her gratitude
to staff for all their hard work in what she described as a
challenging year for the NHS in general.

Innovation and Research and
Development
Recognising R&D, creativity, inspired thinking or originality
from a team or individual to improve services to patients, improve
effective working, reduce inequalities or has had direct impact on
service and/or practice within the Trust and to help the Trust meet
its objectives

Care
This is given to the individual or team that has made an
exceptional contribution to improving Customer care.

Improving
Health
This is given to an individual or team that has delivered
outstanding improvements in health.

Working in Partnership
Given to an individual or team that has implemented or developed
exceptional partnership working or involvement with patients,
clients, the public or staff.

Improving Access
Awarded to an individual or team that has made a special
impact in improving access to services.

An individual in a direct care role, who goes beyond their job

Non-Clinical Unsung Hero
Achievements of an individual working in a non-clinical role,
who goes beyond their job description to help the Trust deliver its
objectives; bringing about change and clear benefits for our
patients, service users and carers through their creative thinking
commitment, vision, determination and drive.
