Your right to know
The Freedom of
Information Act 2000 entitles anybody to ask a public authority in
England, Wales and Northern Ireland, including Government
departments, for any recorded information that they keep.
FOI
This is in addition to individuals' rights of access to
information about themselves under the Data Protection Act 1998,
and other existing legislation that already secures public access
rights to information held by a public authority.
The general right of access under the Freedom of Information Act
is subject to some exemptions and the Act places a number of
obligations on public authorities.

Charges for Information
Most of the Freedom of Information requests received by the
Trust will be handled and dealt with without incurring a charge.
However, requests for information that would exceed the time limit
of 18 hours or £450 (based on a cost of £25 per hour per person) to
compile and produce, may incur a charge or be refused. These fees
are subject to a charging regime set down by Parliament within the
Freedom of Information Act 2000.
Specific charges can be seen in our Schedule of
Charges.
